Orthopaedic Surgeries
Orthopaedic surgery encompasses any surgery that is related to bones or joints. It includes procedures such as fracture repairs, ligament repairs and spinal surgery. We have a fully equipped surgical suite that allows us to perform a variety of orthopaedic surgical procedures that your pet may require. These may include:
- Cranial cruciate ligament repair
- Fracture (broken bone) repair
- Amputations for severe injuries or bone cancer cases
- Luxating Patellas
In our orthopaedic procedures and major operations, your pet’s comfort is our priority. All of our patients receive a pain pack which includes a local pain relief in the joint, a morphine drip post-operatively, a slow releasing opiod patch over the following three days, and anti-inflammatory medication to keep them pain free and happy.
Soft-Tissue Surgeries
Soft-Tissue Surgery encompasses any surgery relating to the skin. It includes procedures such as lump removals and reconstructions. Our team of skilled veterinarians have tackled lumps that have come in a range of sizes, from benign tiny warts to large malignant tumors.Some of these lumps include:
- Lipoma – A benign fat filled lump that can grow large and impact on a dogs movement
- Melanoma – A malignant skin cancer thats seen in people
- Mast Cell Tumor – A skin cancer that ranges from low to highly malignant and invasive
- Soft-Tissue Sarcoma – A malignant fast growing tumor that is locally invasive
